Pitch & Hitch
Joburg's first friend-pitched singles night needed a platform that sold the concept, managed live event logistics, and made dating apps look obsolete — all in one site.
Visit live site
Pitch & Hitch is a new concept — a curated singles night where your best friend pitches you on stage with a PowerPoint. The site needed to explain a format nobody had seen before, build early-access demand, handle live event logistics like spot tracking and calendar sync, and convince people that real-life chemistry beats swiping.
We built a full-stack Next.js platform with a bold, dark visual identity anchored by coral and teal accents. The site features a live Google Sheets integration for real-time spot tracking, Google Calendar sync so events auto-update on the site when the client adds them, an interactive dating-app-vs-Pitch-&-Hitch comparison section, a partnership page with venue and brand tiers, and a multi-role early access form. Every section was designed to sell the experience before the first event even happens.
Selling a format that doesn't exist yet
Nobody searches for 'friend-pitched singles night' — the site had to teach the concept and build desire in the same scroll. A four-step visual walkthrough (Arrive, Pitch, Mingle, Spark), a mock pitch card showing what the experience actually looks like, and a side-by-side comparison against dating apps do the heavy lifting before a single word of marketing copy.
Live logistics without a developer
The client manages everything through tools they already use. Google Sheets tracks remaining spots per event — update a cell, the site updates. Google Calendar manages event dates — add an event, it appears on the site. Partnership tiers, FAQs, and early-access signups all run without touching code.
The versus section that makes the case
The interactive dating app comparison is a working UI — swipe through fake profiles, see '200 swipes · 0 matches · 0 dates', then look right and see a Pitch & Hitch night unfold in real time. It makes the argument viscerally instead of verbally, and it's the section people share the most.
The build, in detail.

Pitch & Hitch launched with a platform that explains, sells, and operationally manages events from a single site.
Live spot tracking and calendar sync eliminated the need for manual website updates between events.
The interactive versus section became the most-shared element, driving organic early-access signups.
“The site does more selling than we ever could in a DM. People land on the versus section and immediately get it — they sign up because the site made them feel what the night would be like.”
